One of the things I love most about running this blog is the opportunity it gives me to meet so many talented and inspiring people. I get comments, which lead me to blogs and then those blogs lead to other blogs. It’s like walking along a magical tree with branches going this way and that. So many places to explore and be inspired by.

Krissie, maintainer of the blog, The Owl Diary, was one such bright and lovely soul I have had the chance to meet as a result of my digital wonderland here. The Owl Diary is a personal look into Krissie’s head with all its wonderful thoughts and images. A kindred dreamer, for sure. Welcome to Wonderland Krissie!

Name: Krissie
Blog: The Owl Diary

1. What made you decide to start a blog?
I wanted somewhere I could express myself in a creative way, to just release my thoughts and feature all the things I find inspiring.

2. How would you describe your blog in 10 words or less?
My very random, creative wonderland.

3. How did you come up with the name for your blog?
I’ve always loved owls and after trying to come up with a name, it just stuck. My blog was previously titled Afternoon Breakfast. After a while I thought it was time for a change.

4. What’s your favorite thing about running your blog?
The readers and the simple fact that someone living halfway across the world can say the right words in a comment to brighten my day.

5. What advice would you give to people out there who want to start their own blog?
Just be yourself. And don’t be afraid to say ‘hi’ to other bloggers. I had my blog for about a year before I ever really commented anyone- before I put my name out there and discovered a wonderful community of bloggers I never knew existed.

6. List one of each of the following categories that you would recommend as a source of inspiration:

Book: Eloise. She’s my hero.

Movie: You’ve Got Mail. This movie will always be my favorite.

Blog: Your Wishcake. She’s a brilliant, genuine writer.

Artist: Tiffy’s Art & DGanit

Music: Taylor Swift. Half the world would disagree with me, but I believe she’s a brilliant song writer. & I swear I can relate to 95 percent of her lyrics.

7. Where’s your favorite place to daydream?
St. James Park in London. I visited there a total of three times on my study abroad trip to London this past summer. I have no idea why, but I’m in love with that park. I want to move to London just so I can sit there on the weekends and daydream and journal.

8. What stores do you like to shop at?
Anthropologie, Dillards, Michaels,Target, Barnes & Noble, H&M and Z Gallerie.

9. If you could have an item from any story, what item would you want to have?
Time-Turner Necklace.

10. And lastly, it wouldn’t be Wonderland without a tea party… so what type of tea would you like?
Lipton Vanilla Caramel truffle. I’m not the biggest tea drinker (more of a coffee lover), but this tea is delicious.

No worries Krissie, I understand. I am rather swamped lately myself with having my mother visiting and having had attended a writing conference all weekend. Just now playing catch-up ^.^
