Living in such a tiny castle (more like a cozy cottage), I often find myself dreaming about the perfect home and the perfect bedroom. Our personal spaces are so important. They help us express ourselves and also can affect our living habits and moods. I remember once I was very down and my mother surprised me by giving my little tower a make over with lots of pretty things. It was amazing how surrounding yourself with small enchantments can really make the difference. However, since the prince and I are putting all our money into the treasury to save up for a bigger castle, I cannot do much. But I can dream…
The inspiration board above is a collection of what would be in my perfect room. Seeing Maria’s bedroom from The Secret of Moonacre and Penelope’s bedroom from Penelope just made me drool. I would love to have the beautiful celestial murals surrounding the walls and ceiling. Expecially all the pretty stars. I would love to afix twinkling lights into my bedroom ceiling to sleep under the stars. And I adore moss terrariums like in Penelope’s room. It’s like having a fairy garden right in ones own home. I also loved her swing. I would definately want one of those! There would be plenty of white chiffon draped all about, along with dangling Kirks Folly windchimes. Billows of chiffon and dazzling sparklies everywhere!
I am in love with that Shawn Lovell bed. It really is my dream bed. It looks fit for a fairy tale princess. Couldn’t you just see Snow White sleeping there? The fainting couch is the same one my mother has, but in white. I thought the butterfly chandelier was lovely as well. And no princess is complete without a set of pretties for ones vanity. For an added kick of whimsy, wonderland love, I dearly want those Vincent Leman cabinets. They are Wonderland come to life!
So that’s a little peek into the pretty wonderland in my mind…
